Turning curiosity into confidence, one concept at a time.
Ideology
My teaching is highly personalized to the student. I like to relate to students collaboratively as opposed to hierarchically. Traditionally that’s how math has been taught, but that hierarchy is unhelpful for conceptual understanding and long-term retention. As technology continues to automate more human processes it is deeply important for younger generations to continue learning these rigorous systems of reasoning. Over time this rigor in writing out reasoning translates into how the student thinks. This is why Mathematics is valuable. It’s not necessarily about what Math can do in the real world, but how the patterns and logic in Mathematics show up in the real world.
